Courses

Masters Level

On successful completion of foundation and Intermediate level training, trainees are eligible to apply for qualifying level training, a three year MSc in Family Therapy and Systemic Practice, making them eligible for registration with the Association of Family Therapy as an accredited Family Therapist and Systemic Practitioner.

Foundation Level

The Foundation level training is designed for practitioners who work with individuals, families and broader interagency systems. In this Association of Family Therapy (AFT) accredited course trainees are introduced to core theories and key ideas from the literature in Family Therapy and Systemic Practice. There is a strong emphasis on developing links between theory, reflexivity, feedback and practice.

Intermediate Level

The Intermediate level training, accredited by the Association of Family Therapy (AFT) has its emphasis on application to practice. It is both a consolidation of learning from the Foundation level training and preparation for the PG Dip / Masters level training, should trainees wish to proceed.

Systematic Supervision Course

The Family and Systemic Psychotherapy Supervision Course aims to provide a rigorous but flexible training programme, which fits the needs of course participants and the requirements of the Association of Family Therapy and Systemic Practice (AFT)’s Red Book on supervision training.

Agency Based Training

The Family Therapy Training Network has over thirty years’ experience in collaboratively designing and delivering training.

We bring theory based practice from the field of family therapy and systemic practice and an extensive knowledge of adult learning to the process. In conversation with agencies we can work to understand your training requirements and tailor short and longer trainings that play their part in developing your workforce.
